Sherri is a retired aerospace engineer who now tutors part time from 2pm to 7pm from Monday through Friday. She lives in Fountain Valley with her husband and does in home math tutoring in the cities of Santa Ana, Irvine, Newport Beach, Fountain Valley, and Tustin. She began doing math lessons out of her home but now prefers to go to her student's homes as it gets her out of the house.
Sherri grew up in Philadelphia and got her degree in engineering at UCLA, where she graduated magna cum laude for her bachelor degree in 1976. Once she got a job in her field she decided to stay in southern California and has been here ever since. She has worked for such companies as Boeing and even did some contract work with Nasa.
Once she retired in 2003 she found herself with more time on her hands than she wanted, and began tutoring local high school and college students at her home in Fountain Valley CA. It wasn't her first time tutoring. She has 4 children (now grown) whom she tutored in the evenings as they each went through the requisite math courses at their schools. She found she had a great knack for explaining math concepts and has continued to tutor on a regular basis. She joined Mercury Tutors for the 2009-2010 school year and has done an excellent job with each client I have matched her up with.
